The McArthur family's surrogacy journey.
The road to parenthood isn't easy for everyone. Nikki and Matt found out that they were pregnant two years ago. This was exciting news at first until Nikki started feeling the effects of Extreme Hyperemesis. The excessive vomiting and dehydration meant that her body was unable to cope with the pregnancy and sadly at 13 weeks the pregnancy had to be terminated for the sake of Nikki's health. Conceiving naturally was no longer an option for Nikki and Matt. So, in April 2017 they began their surrogacy journey. It wasn't long until they found their amazing surrogate Jen and from there, the rest is history! Fast forward to the 27th of February 2019, after years of waiting for their chance to be parents, jumping through numerous legal hoops and attending antennal classes, Lochie James McArthur arrived into the world at 10:07pm weighting in at 7pounds 2 ounces.
Nikki and Matt will be forever grateful for the gift that Jen has given them and it was an absolute honour to capture their first moments together as a family of three. Enjoy the images below x
