For everyone else, it was just another normal Friday. But for T and S, this was the day their adventure together really began. They hadn't told their friends or even their siblings what they were planning to do! Joined by each of their parents and the groom's 94 year old Grandfather affectionately known as 'Cracker', the group put on their Sunday best (with a white dress in-keeping with bridal tradition of course!) and ventured into Christchurch CBD. I met them at Robert Harris enjoying a beer together, bridal flowers perched on the table, her grandmother's wedding ring tucked in the groom's pocket for safe-keeping. The group was excitedly chatting, waiting for the clock to strike 1pm when they could make their way up to the registry office on the 1st floor of the BNZ Centre. When go-time came along, nine of us bundled into the lift together - Bride, Groom, two sets of parents, Cracker, photographer and assistant.
The Registry Office in Christchurch was light, bright, smart and more than big enough for an intimate gathering of T and S's nearest and dearest to share in their special moment. Lead by a Justice of the Peace, the happy couple shared their vows and exchanged rings as their family looked on with love and a few happy tears. It was easy to see how much love there was in that room. Their elders looked on with absolute approval of their union. Both fathers looked proud as punch.

With the official part done and the marriage certificate signed, there were hugs all around. We exited the BNZ Centre where members of the public were quick to come up to offer the newlyweds their congratulations and compliments.
For family photos we headed to the gloriously autumnal-looking Christchurch Botanic Gardens and then T and S took a private wander amongst the amazing florals and greenery of the Cunningham House Conservatory.
All-in-all, it was an incredible day, with an incredible family. A true honour to be part of documenting this moment in their lives.
